Big News and Summer Updates

First of all -- I have some big news to finally report.  I think most of you already know this, but Wallace Baby #3 is on its way!  I have been slow to announce this pregnancy, partially because we wanted to wait to make sure everything was going well, partly because I've been a poor blogger, and partly because this pregnancy has been so easy so far that I often have forgotten I'm pregnant as I chase after the girls all day!

So I really can't complain.  Things have been going well, I feel good and I'm already at 19 weeks!  My due date is Valentine's Day, which is fun, and this time we will be finding out if it's a boy or a girl.  So exciting!!  Phil agreed to let me decide if we were finding out, and I definitely want to!  I am sure I will post that announcement in a more timely manner. :)

So - catching up on the summer's events.  The next few posts probably won't be in chronological order. They may be more thematic. :)  This will be a camping update, as it turns out!

We had two more camping trips after the one I wrote about a few posts back.  Early in August we went up to Jellystone Campground near Estes Park with my side of the family.  Mom and Dad rented a cabin, and most everyone stayed there while we used our camper.  The weekend was a mixed bag -- we had some rough moments and great fun at other times.  It was nice to get up to the mountains with the fam, and the kids had a great time playing together.

Our next camping trip was a couple weeks later with my college roommates and their families (minus the Goodworths who are in Portland -- we missed you!)  We went up to Wellington Lake with the Meyers' and McKees near Baliey.  It was a great weekend.  Phil and I realized that it was the first camping trip we've been on (out of 6 over the past two summers) that we were able to say "It was a wonderful weekend" without amending that statement with a "but" or "except for."  Sixth time's a charm, I guess!

Anyway, the campground is set on a beautiful lake that has several nice "beachy" areas where the kids could play in the water.  We had 6 kids ages 4 and under, so it was usually a circus but everyone had a lot of fun.  We'll definitely be going back there next year!

Nora mad about something...but cute nonetheless!

We rented a canoe as a group and took turns going out on the lake.  So fun!

well obviously the "perfect" camping weekend had everything to do with the company you kept... :) Thanks for posting some pics!
