Our first camping trip was about 3 weeks ago - we spent the weekend at a beautiful place outside of Estes called Hermit Park. We camped with our good friends the Hubbards and Campbells.
It was a pretty good time -- camping with two small children doesn't allow for much downtime, but it was great to get to hang out with our friends. The weather was lovely, I tried a de-lish pie iron recipe found here and we got to use our new campstove coffeepot. It was exciting to get the camper aired out and used again. The only drawbacks were that the girls had a hard time sleeping, and Grace ate some trail mix with peanuts in it (she's allergic.) I gave her benadryl, which made her wig out, and she was loopy and hard to deal with for a while. But otherwise, the kids had a blast and we got our first trip of the summer under our belt.

Love seeing all the kids...Campbells and "little Anna" (as grace calls CL's cutie pie)...and Carrie - you are looking too hot for a weekend camping!
