At risk of sounding braggy, (bear with me,) I have to share about our sweet Grace's new pasttime: reading. Not just looking at pictures or remembering stories -- she actually READS. It's been an amazing month as she's pretty much taught herself how to read from the ground up. She read her first entire book on her own a couple of weeks ago (I Love Trees, from the library,) and since then she can read many of her books, as well as almost any environmental print we see when we're out and about. She even was making some headway reading the Sunday comics this past weekend. Wow!! The best part of it all has been seeing how proud she is of herself when she figures out a new word or reads a book by herself. We are indescribably proud of her, too!

seems to me she's her mama's daughter, eh?!?! Better start encouraging her to win that college scholarship!! :)
