Wow. October went by waaayyyy too fast. Although I haven't been very good at blogging OR taking pictures this month, it has been eventful. Some highlights:
- Phil turned 37 this week! We went to see Ray LaMontagne at Macky Auditorium in Boulder to celebrate. It was a great show. Ray is a powerful vocalist, yet he's quite shy and quiet when not singing. It makes for an unusual concert! We had dinner at Cucina Roma Roma before we left, and my dear cousin watched the girls for us. It was so nice to go out on a date!
- We confirmed that Grace is indeed allergic to peanuts. We visited the allergist this past week and peanut was the only allergen that reacted, so that is good in a glass-half-full kind of way. I guess it is a "moderate" allergy, but the doctor recommended having an Epi-pen around at all times, just in case. It's bummer, but I'm glad we found out for sure.
- Phil's brother Adam ran the Denver Marathon! That alone is quite amazing, but what's even more impressive is that he ran it in just under 3 hours and 45 minutes!!!! He beat his previous time (from the Portland Marathon) by 30 minutes!!! I can't even fathom it. Congratulations, Adam!
- The girls had their checkups at the beginning of the month. Grace was still under 27 lbs. and in the 3rd-5th percentile. Nora was almost 14 lbs. at at the 50th percentile for height and weight. They both are doing great!
- We helped celebrate Becca's birthday by driving down to be part of her surprise party and chipping in to get her a piano. A special day for a wonderful person!
- Nora is almost rolling over, and has recently discovered her toes. She loves getting them into her mouth (as seen above)!
- We voted!
I will be sure to take pictures of the girls tomorrow in their costumes. Oh my -- three posts in one week! Crazy!
